From casting call to creator-made series: valuing creators’ influence inside wedding media.

From 2022 to 2024, Frost brought creators and an original series to a national wedding media brand’s video team. By the end, a creator on SEA MGMNT’s roster had gone from hosting the series to making episodes with her own team, and those episodes reportedly averaged four times the series’ viewership.

The Question

What is a creator worth to a media brand that only asked for a host?

What Frost Saw

Wedding media brands were starting to put creators on camera, mostly as faces for formats they’d already designed. Frost saw more in them: expertise, rapport with couples, ideas for series of their own and, in at least one case, a team that could shoot and edit. The question wasn’t whether creators belonged in wedding media. It was what role they were worth. The relationship itself began with a creator’s brand partnership, which opened the door to the brand’s programming.

The Direction

Build the relationship before there’s a role, value each creator for everything she brings, and structure each step so her role can grow.

What Frost Created

Two years of work with one brand’s video team: an original series pitched, a casting process shaped, a pilot valued as a pilot, and a creator-made model that became the series’ final episodes, with Frost structuring the production.

The Calls

Six decisions turned a casting call into a creator-made series.

The Expected Move

Frost set the strategy, valued each partnership and structured the production. SEA MGMNT represented the creators; in 2022, a commercial agent handled on-camera negotiations.

Timeline

From a casting call to a creator-made series, and a relationship that continues.

OCTOBER 2022

During New York Bridal Fashion Week, after time together at a designer’s event, the brand’s influencer partnerships team, already working with a creator SEA MGMNT represents, introduces Frost to its video team, which is casting a host for a YouTube series. The creator auditions.

EARLY 2023

Frost returns to the brand’s video team and pitches an original series built from the same creator’s own content.

MID-2023

The brand casts a host for a new entertainment series. Frost puts SEA MGMNT’s creators forward and sets the audition format, and one is cast.

Perspective

Media brands often cast creators the way they cast presenters: for a face and an audience. But a creator’s influence runs deeper than her screen time. It’s in her expertise, her ideas and what she can make.

Over two years, Frost valued each of those in turn: creators’ on-camera presence, then their ideas for a series, then their ability to make one. The role grew because the value was recognized at every step, and because Frost had been at the brand’s table long before the call came.

“Influence isn’t only what a creator says on camera. It’s what she can make.”

How Frost Created It

Where Frost Found It

In creators’ expertise, their rapport with couples, their own ideas for series, and the production skills already on a creator’s team.

What It Was Worth

To the brand, hosts with followings, original formats and, finally, a team that delivered its strongest episodes. To the creators, roles that grew from on-camera talent to making the series themselves, valued at each step.

What It Connected To

A national wedding media brand, its YouTube audience, and independent creators and their own teams.

What Moved

  • A host helped make the series. A creator went from on-camera talent to shooting and editing a national series’ final episodes with her own team.

  • The creator-made episodes outperformed. They reportedly averaged four times the viewership of the series’ other episodes.

  • The relationship continues. Frost has been bringing creators and ideas to the brand’s video and editorial teams since 2022.
